Everybody knows Jameson as a pleasant if simple blend. But the Midleton distillery also has an 18yo cask strength Jameson, matured in selected ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. To top this off the whiskey was finished in ex-bourbon casks as well.

What is your experience with Texas Whiskey?

Well, this rye whiskey was not distilled in Texas but the maturation in the hot Texan climate is supposed to influence the whiskey in a special way. To be honest, the bottle does not tell you all that much about the whiskey. But then, sourced whiskey can be good and I am most curious to taste this one.

A new review has been posted on our website. This time it is not whisky but a coffee liqueur infused with good German Whisky. The name Bairish Coffee @stonewood_whisky is a word play referring to the famous Irish Coffee, and it is a great drink either way.

Full bodied coffee aromas go well with the light floral character of the whisky. And the whisky is none other than Stonewood’s 5yo single malt Drà, so only high quality products were used.

Penderyn’s Icons of Wales series celebrates the history of Wales. Number 7 honours Rhiannon, the Otherworld woman from the Mabinogion.

It is also a great whisky. It was first matured in ex-Buffalo Trace barrels, than 40% were matured in ex-red wine casks and 60% in ex-sherry butts. While it is pleasantly dry in the mouth and with a good amount of oak spice, the finish is super sweet and fruity. That was a surprise.
